Advanced Assistance

Most instances of relapse that occur outside of treatment eventuate when clients do not have the support they need to sustain mental health. In treatment, the client receives the sheltering necessary to start recovery, but once they leave treatment outside, stress can accumulate from dealing with everyday life – things like paying bills, resolving debt, filing taxes, and many other challenges we all face when dealing with the outside world.

Here at Guiding Hands Healthcare, we create and sustain productive members of society by building an environment where the client will thrive; we teach the daily habits required to maintain a full recovery. Because the opposite of addiction is not sobriety; the opposite of addiction is connection.

CalWORKs is a public assistance program that provides cash aid and services to eligible people. If a person has little or no cash and needs housing, food, utilities, clothing, or medical care, they may be eligible to receive immediate short-term help. Those who apply and qualify for ongoing assistance receive money each month to help pay for housing, food, and other essential expenses.

We at Guiding Hands Healthcare assist clients in enrolling in Government Programs to help them in their time of need while they regain stability with life.

The federal government provides grants for students attending college or career school. Most types of grants, unlike loans, are sources of free money that generally do not have to be repaid.
Grants can come from the Department of Rehabilitation, the federal government, state government, college or career school, or private or nonprofit organizations. Guiding Hands Healthcare helps you do your research, apply for any grants you might be eligible for and enables you to meet your application deadlines!

Basic skills like speaking, active listening, and writing are necessary for all workplaces. Additionally, people skills, like negotiating, persuading, and coordinating with coworkers, help people work well with others. We at Guiding Hands Healthcare help by creating environments such as mock interviews to help teach the necessary skills to gain employment and better work with others. We also assist with job applications, resume building, communication, and interpersonal skills.

“Your Goal and your Purpose are two different things. Goals are what you want. Your purpose is what is seeking to emerge through you.” -Kimberly Lou

Sometimes clients are hesitant about setting goals at the beginning of their program. “What’s the use?” they say, “I have the very same goals as last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. The only difference is now, when I set goals, I feel like it’s never going to happen.” Many do not realize that most goals fail because the person setting the goal usually doesn’t have a specific blueprint or plan, or the tools to achieve them.

Learning how to create a life plan is much like building a map for business to guide your company’s decisions. Creating a life plan allows you to pursue those meaningful goals that align clients to their Authentic Self.
Guiding Hands Healthcare believes that there is no such thing as a broken human being; they are just living uninspired from past failures. That said, life is uncertain. There will always be unexpected bumps along the way that you couldn’t have possibly anticipated. So how do you navigate uncharted territory? The beauty of creating a life plan accommodates life’s unknowns. That, in addition to a solid strategy, helps those embrace the challenges that elevate your life with the right mindset and preparation.

Often, we see change as something to fear or dread instead of an opportunity for a new adventure to improve. Our Team at Guiding Hands Healthcare helps guide you to experience change as a fun new life adventure rather than something negative. Additionally, we help clients evolve and grow—giving them the chance to be optimistic about their ability to adapt.

We create and sustain productive members of society. The problem ends here.
